GUBBA RUGS

These are hand-made in Kashmir. Two fabrics, say one all black and one all white are tacked together. A design is drawn and the pattern cut out of both layers of cloth, the parts cut out are then interchanged, black on white and white on black. The cloths used are usually old and worn Pattoo old style.
